UNIVERSITATEA TEHNICA "GH. ASACHI" IASI ("Gh. Asachi" Technical University Iasi) (www.tuiasi.ro) - In 1937 the Gh. Asachi Polytechnic School was founded by transforming the two technical-application sections of the University, which became faculties in the new higher Institution. During and immediately after the World War II, the Polytechnic School (an Institute from 1948) extended its domain.

With a much enlarged sphere of activity, the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi became the Gh.Asachi Technical University in 1993, including 10 Engineering faculties with 11.740 enlisted students and 2771 employees. The Gh. Asachi Technical University offers technical courses in all levels of CAD and CADD training in technical sciences including e-learning, ensuring superior conditions for the development of the gifted specialists. In this project, the analytical outline of the second e-learning package will be initiated and structured by the Gh. Asachi Technical University together with the promoter. The background of the Department of Education and Teacher Training (DPPD) will also be integrated to the project which concentrates on the training of teachers for vocational schools and provide counselling for students of technical universities.

As the University has strong relationships with numerous international academic institutions and its executive council being concerned with extending such connections, project valorisation both during the project progress and after the achievement of final product will be one of the most important duties of this partner beyond the preparation of second e-learning package, local test group organisation and implementation of tests and further contribution in the preparation of the Web portal.

Parallel to their duties in the project, Prof. Marius George Tipa, based in Timisoara, Romania has produced the CADD lessons and guided other partners in developing local versions by introducing valuable help support.
